Quest Diagnostic is the “world’s leading provider of diagnostic testing services” with clinical laboratories throughout the United States and beyond. BFrank Studio was approached by our design/build partner to facilitate the design for two existing sites – one in Class A medical office space in Largo and another freestanding building in Tarpon Springs. Each project included client waiting space and a series of patient encounter rooms, phlebotomy rooms, nursing stations, drug storage, and restrooms with specimen pass-through at each.
The projects are simple and efficient in design – promoting the client’s branding. Steps were taken to enhance client experience by widening corridors to provide a more gracious and less clinical feel to the overall spaces. Partial height walls also lend to a sense of openness while still providing privacy during patient encounters. The materials palette provide a contemporary feel and a warmth to ease anxiety that may often be experienced by individuals during certain processes – such as blood drawing.
Additional spaces include: lab processing with deionized water, chemistry analyzer, hematology analyzers, zebra label printers, floor drains, walk-in cooler, urinalysis station, centrifuges, blood coagulation analyzers, and emergency shower; meeting room; storage; billing and processing; and staff breakrooms.
